This blog is on one! And I didn’t even realize it until I got another comment recently. (thanks, Tracy!) Summertime and some other things are bustin’ out all over and keeping me away from Our Beloved Internets. But I shall return! “I’ll be bahk.” In about a week, I think, I’ll have enough time to post my oh so compelling thoughts about writing.

Hi! I just wanted to stop by to say how much I loved your article in SCBWI’s Bulletin. Project Runway is one of my favorite shows and you made some wonderful connections between the art of weaving fabrics and the art of weaving stories. Thanks and I also loved your thoughts on rejection and how it can push writers to become better at what we love.
Have a great summer hiatus!
Hey, just wanted to say that I really enjoyed your “lessons from project runway” article in the SCBWI bulletin. I’m also a Project Runway junkie, and I think you were spot on.
I think I can hear Tim Gunn now, saying to us as we write, “Carry on!”
Namaste,
Lee
Hey Dot! I saw your article in the bulletin. Way to go, dude! I remember reading some form of that in an earlier post of yours — I’m so glad you decided to publish it!
Enjoy your summer and time off from cyberland!
love,
sheela
Really enjoyed your article in the Jul/Aug 2009 SCBWI Bulletin on Lessons from Project Runway. I too am a fan of that show and for the very reasons you mentioned in your article. The designers create something beautiful out of nothing except their creativity just as writers start out with a blank canvas.
I also enjoyed your article about Project Runway very much! I love Project Runway and had come to some of these same realizations, but hadn’t really put these thoughts into words as you have. It’s so interesting watching the creative processes of others, isn’t it? Sometimes I see that same spark of realization in the designers that I often have when I’m writing and it’s simply fascinating.
Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your article in the bulletin. Very inspirational! We have a similar show here in the UK – Project Catwalk, I think – but I can’t stand the presenter so don’t watch it. Maybe I should!
